What is "first-lien position" and why does it matter?

Last update: Aug 31, 2026

When Wellrogo originates a loan, we typically hold the first-lien position on the property — meaning that if the property were ever sold or foreclosed upon, the first-lien holder is paid before any other lender or the equity owner. This is a structural feature designed to reduce (not eliminate) risk relative to unsecured lending or direct equity ownership.
